YOUTH BANQUET & CONFERENCE
Niagara Region Right to Life (NRRTL) organizes one of the largest pro-life youth conferences in Canada.
The conference has become known as the Youth Summit, a gathering designed to let young people explore important public issues related to the challenges human beings face in living out their human destiny.
The Youth Summit provides a structured educational venue to allow students to understand, develop, and articulate their views on human life from conception to natural death and to learn how current cultural and societal trends may help shape their understanding and appreciation of key public issues. A cross section of youth between the ages of 14 and late 20s are the invited audience.
During the Summit learners will listen to outstanding speakers addressing a variety of topics dealing with the dignity of all human life and the need to protect it from dangers it may face all along the continuum from conception to natural death.
The themes of presentations may well range widely: from the reasons why a woman may choose an abortion to the philosophical or political foundations used to further abortion ideology; from the efforts of life advocates to defend the innocent victims of abortion to the challenges of changing minds and hearts and the healing of women traumatized by the abortion experience; from the social changes that destabilize families and to the stress faced by individuals coping with disabilities; from the fragility, burdens and loneliness of the aged to the growing tragedy of death by assited suicide.
Such information will assist younger Canadians in forming their opinion on contentious public issues (eg. abortion and euthanasia, pornography and bioethical developments, demographic trends and technological breakthroughs) through the presentation of content that is relevant, factual, objective, and free of political partisanship.
